President receives Bulgaria’s top prosecutor

HÀ NỘI — President Trần Đại Quang lauded co-operation between the two supreme procuracy bodies of Việt Nam and Bulgaria at a reception yesterday for Bulgarian Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov in Hà Nội. 

The President said the visit of the Bulgarian guest at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Lê Minh Trí will open up new opportunities for bilateral co-operation. 

He called on the procuracy sectors of both countries to continue effectively implementing their agreement signed in April  二0 一 五, with a focus on sharing experience in law building and enforcement. 

The two sides should work closely together in fighting crime, particularly transnational crime, protecting the rights of each other’s citizens, and supporting each other at international forums, President Quang said. 

He acknowledged the support Bulgaria has provided for Việt Nam in the past as well as at present, reaffirming that the Party and the State of Việt Nam wishes to foster ties with traditional friends, including Bulgaria. 

Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov hailed the close friendship between the two nations, saying that it lays a solid foundation for bilateral co-operation.

He updated the host on the outcomes of the talks between him and his Vietnamese counterpart, saying that they had agreed on delegation exchanges and prosecutor training, adding that there is room for the agencies to expand co-operation. – VNS
